Rohinnii: Another star kid turns director

Actress R Rohinnii Singh (formerly Risheeka Singh), has always hinted that direction is her calling. Now, she has begun work on her debut film ' Devyani. Rohinnii plays the title role in the film, which features four other leads. The film, she says, will appeal to audiences who enjoy the kind of new-age cinema that's been hitting screens.
'I believe in cinema that entertains viewers who want to forget everything else and laugh out loud.There is a transition in the kind of cinema that is being catered to audiences, even in Sandalwood. I wanted my first film to entertain and make people laugh. Hence, I chose a romcom,' she says.
The team has begun work on the film, though they plan on formally launching it only in 2017. 'We chose Devyani as the title to give it a feminine touch. The film doesn't completely revolve around me. There are five protagonists. Apart from me, there is Skanda Ashok (of U-Turn fame), newbies Nikhil R Mohan and Mastan, and we are looking for another female lead. The film has dialogues by State Award-winner Manjunath Sanjeev, while the story is by Veena Kulkarni and me,' adds Rohinnii.
