On April 14th last year, the tides changed for Sandalwood, for, the industry’s first film to cross 1,000 crores released on this day. And to celebrate the same, the makers uploaded a monster cut video ‘Revisiting Rocky’s Empire’. The video also drops several hints at KGF -3, including where was Rocky Bhai from 1978 to 1981.
In the post-credit scenes of KGF-2, it can be seen that three months before Rocky’s death, a
CIA agent hands over a file consisting of Rocky’s crimes in USA and 16 other countries between 1978 and 1981 to Ramika Sen. The third instalment is likely to take place during this time period. Also, the video goes on to say, ‘Mother of all collisions is yet to be witnessed’, thus hinting at another larger-than-life action movie on cards. The video ends with an assurance: ‘That promise will be kept’.
According to sources, the movie may take off only in 2025 as both Yash and
Prashanth Neel have a handful of projects for the next 2 years. While Yash is currently busy with Yash 19, Prashanth Neel is wrapping up Salaar with Prabhas. Post this, he will be to helming NTR 30, starring
Junior NTR. Yash also has 2 more projects in the pipeline. If all goes as planned, KGF-3 will take off in 2025. It can be recalled that Vijay Kiragandur, too, had said that KGF-3 will go on floors only in 2025.
Owing to the monstrous success of KGF-2, both cast and crew members had dropped several hints about KGF-3. Director Prashanth Neel had expressed interest about ‘keeping the franchise going’. During an interview with a media house recently, actor
Raveena Tandon, who played
Ramika Sen in KGF-2, has said that she is hoping that there will be a third instalment and she will get to work with the team soon.
