Kannada actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty who recently received a National Film Award for his powerful performance in ‘Kantara’, has been actively promoting the upcoming Kannada film ‘Laughing Buddha’, which stars Pramod Shetty. Now the actor’s recent criticisms of Bollywood have taken Rishab into the spotlight again.
During an interview with MetroSaga, a clip of which has since gone viral, Rishab Shetty did not hold back in his criticism of Bollywood.
Rishab Shetty expressed his displeasure with how Bollywood films often portray India in a negative light at international film festivals. "Indian films, particularly Bollywood, often portray India negatively. These so-called art films get showcased at international events and receive special attention. For me, my nation, my state, and my language are sources of pride. I believe in presenting them in a positive light to the world, and that’s exactly what I strive to do," the ‘Kantara’ actor remarked.
On the work front, Rishab Shetty’s next project is the sequel to ‘Kantara’ which is officially titled ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’. The movie will explore the origin story and is expected to hit the big screens in early 2025.
Meanwhile, Rishab Shetty was last seen playing a cameo role in the comedy-drama film ‘Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare’ which received good reviews.
