The film was Rishab Shetty’s third directorial and had music by Vasuki Vaibhav. During the making, the filmmaker had said that making a children’s film was a beautiful experience for him. “I wanted to make a content-driven film, without big stars, told through children,” Rishab had been quoted as saying.
The film was set in Kasargod, which becomes the hotbed for language supremacy, when a Kannada medium government-run Middle and High School faces a lot of financial difficulties due to non-receipt of money from the government officials. Faced with hostile and corrupt government officials, the prinvipal is forced to sign a government order declaring that the building is unsafe and needs to be demolished.
This move though, affects a bunch of students, who then take it upon themselves to get someone 'famous' to fight their case. They enlist the help of a social worker, Anantapadmanabha, to take up their case. In a twist of fate, though, the children end up getting the wrong Anantapadmanabha to take up their struggle.
