Rangan Style director helps complete a Tulu film

In a first in Tulu films, a film has been helmed by two directors.

, a romantic film starring Pruthvi Ambaar was being shot at a steady pace when its director Harris Konajekal passed away after he met with an accident. The shooting of the film had to come to an abrupt halt owing to the unfortunate circumstance and the team was in a fix. That’s when S Prashanth, the director of

Rangan Style

came on board and offered to complete the task at hand.
“Harris and Akash, the producer. have been friends of mine. When this incident occurred and the team was struggling to finish the film, I felt it was a moral responsibility on my part to help them out. About 70% of the film had already been completed when I came on board,” shares Prashanth, who has previously directed a Tulu film called Dagal Bajilu. “Initially, it was tough because the film was the vision of another director. I watched what was shot, and then worked out a way to complete the story. The team was supportive and we finished shoot in 15 days,” he says.

, whose antics went viral on social media owing to his wisecracks, was roped in to add extra flavour to the flick. “I hope I’ve done justice to the script. It’s Harris’s pet project, so I’ve told the makers to skip my credits and dedicate the film entirely to him,” wraps Prashanth
