Ramya opts out of film and Siri Ravikumar sails in

Actor Ramya, who recently announced that she would soon be making a comeback with the Raj B Shetty directorial, Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye, has opted out of the project. Siri Ravikumar of Sakutumba Sameta fame will now be stepping into her shoes.
Ramya says, “At the end of the day, the script is everything. When Raj finished the script and sent it to me, I read it a few times before suggesting to Raj that we cast someone else. Raj asked why and I told him that it was purely because the script required a newcomer. And he agreed with me, which can only mean that both of us were thinking of what’s best for the film. He suggested Siri Ravikumar. I didn’t know of her, but when I saw her picture, I instantly knew she’d fit the character to the T. When the team contacted Siri, she was happy to hop on board and eventually, everything just fell into place.”
“I want my comeback film to be a theatrical experience, that’s one thing. Raj’s script would have been apt, no doubt. But the only thing is, I felt like the film needed a newcomer. At the end of the day, it is the film that is most important. Raj has written a wonderful script and I am glad Siri has accepted it,” Ramya adds. “I will announce my comeback project during the first week of November and fans will be over the moon, for sure,” she concludes.

Siri Ravikumar, on the other hand, is elated to be a part of the project. "I am smiling ear to ear! That's how excited I am," she says. "My birthday was a few days ago and the gift has come a bit late," Siri laughs. "When I was approached for SMMH, I was in disbelief. It all happened so quickly and the decision was also made very quickly. It is quite exciting because I have been offered the role by both the production house and the director. I am grateful for everything that is
