The demise of SP Balasubrahmanyam has come as a shock to many. This twist of fate has left many close associates of the legendary singer upset and heartbroken. Among them is
Ramesh Aravind, who considers songs sung by SP Balasubrahmanyam for his films like Duet and Amrutha Varshini as treasures that he will cherish forever in his career. The actor and filmmaker has also revealed in reports that
SPB was approached to sing a song for his upcoming directorial film 100, which he had approached the late singer for and the latter had even expressed interest.
Ramesh had been quoted as saying it was before SPB was ill and was hospitalized. Ramesh, who has had innumerable hits in his career that have been sung by the legend, had approached him for a song in the film. SPB had expressed interest and had even asked for the tunes to be sent to him. After listening to the song, the late singer had apparently sent Ramesh a voice note that explained that the tune was in a note that was out of his natural range, so he might not be able to sing the same and he had even even suggested another singer's name for it. Ramesh also added that SPB said that he could do it, but it could sound artificial, which was why he suggested another singer's name. Ramesh further said that such humility coming from someone who has sung around 41,000 songs is a rare quality. This entire incident apparently made Ramesh send SPB a message saying, 'You refresh my love for you."
Ramesh also stated how he wished SPB should have received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in his lifetime for his unparalleled achievements.
