Ragini Dwivedi’s film with PC Shekar is ‘The Terrorist’

The title, though, has the filmmaker in a fix as he is not able to create appropriate social media handles
Ragini Dwivedi’s film with PC Shekar is ‘The Terrorist’
Director PC Shekar is just days away from starting his film with Ragini Dwivedi in the lead and has finally managed to secure a title. Considering that it is a movie about terrorism, it made sense to name it The Terrorist, and while Shekar has now officially registered it, there were issues initially, as it is an English title and because another filmmaker held the rights to the name Terror.

“We sorted out all of that and are now in pre-production. These days, it is important for a film team to have a robust social media presence, but unfortunately, we are not able to use the title for social media handles due to the security policies on those portals. While we considered short forms like ‘TTFilm’ as the handle, it doesn’t really serve our purpose. So, we are in the process of discussing this with teams from the portals,” says Shekar.
As for the movie, the director lets us in on the fact that it is inspired by the serial blasts that rocked Bengaluru in 2008. As many as nine explosions occurred within the span of less than an hour across different parts of the city. With the protagonist Reshma, played by Ragini, he delves into the human aspect of such incidents, especially of the kith and kin of those caught in the attacks. “The film is about how a woman fights against such atrocities, even providing a non-violent solution,” Shekar signs off.
