Magadheera fans will like Lakshmana too

Anup Revanna makes his debut with Lakshmana today

It's been two years since director

R Chandru

had a

Kannada

release and, naturally, he is excited about his film, Lakshmana, which hits theatres today. Produced by Vatsala Revanna, the film marks the debut of

Anup Revanna

, the son of former minister, HM Revanna. With stars like V Ravichandaran, Meghana Raj, Prabhakar of Baahubali-fame and Chikkanna, among others, as part of the cast, Chandru says that audiences have much to look forward to in this film. He tells us why the film is a must-watch this week. * There is an audience for R Chandru films, and they, like me, will be excited about my first directorial since Charminar, especially since this is an entertainer with family as the backdrop. * I am launching a newcomer, Anup Revanna, at a time when the industry and audiences are increasingly welcoming new talent. This is a good time for us to test the market and we hope that audiences will welcome Anup as well. * Ravi sir plays a police officer in the film and we have presented him in Singham style. His character, ACP Rana Dheera, will be a treat. *

Lakshmana

is a revenge drama and there is a lot of action in the film. * Audiences who enjoyed the action of

Magadheera

can expect pretty much the same scale of action in our film. Yes, we worked on a much smaller budget, compared to Magadheera, but people will not be disappointed with the stunts in Lakshmana. * Arjun Janya's music is a highlight, and the song Raave Raave is already a chartbuster, what with Anup and Meghana's energetic moves to the number. * Chikkanna plays a pivotal role in the film and his scenes, especially those with Sadhu Kokila, will have audiences in splits. * Last, but not the least, when people hear that this is a home production for HM Revanna, they might bring politics into the picture. But our film has no such connect and is pure entertainment.
