Producer demands refund from Shivarajkumar

Soorappa Babu approaches KFCC to get the Hat-trick Hero to return the advance paid to him for the now-shelved Varada
For perhaps the first time in the history of the Rajkumar family, a complaint has been filed against a member from the family. Producer Soorapa Babu, in a letter written to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has sought help to get Shivarajkumar to return the advance of 20 lakh, which was paid to him towards their project Varada.
But with the project now shelved due to a long-drawn title tussle with producer Shankara Gowda, who is making a film called Varadanayaka, Soorapa wants his money back. According to sources, Soorappa did not directly approach Shivanna, preferring to seek the Chamber���������s help, perhaps buoyed by director Kavita Lankesh���������s recent successful bid to get pending dues from a producer. When we spoke to Soorappa, he seemed surprised that the news of his plaint had broken. ���������The matter will be settled this weekend. As we have not been able to work together on Varada, I have asked for a refund,��������� he said.
KFCC president KV Chandrashekar, meanwhile, has forwarded the matter to the Kendra Sandana Samithi, where it will be resolved. But Mars Suresh of the Kendra Sandana Samithi, claims that he is yet to get clear instructions from the Chamber about the matter. ���������Though I am aware of the issue, I have not got any instructions with regard to how it has to be resolved. But we are hopeful of resolving the issue soon,��������� he said.
As for Shivanna, the actor is currently on holiday with family in Sri Lanka and remained unavailable for comment. His spokesperson Tarun says, ���������This is a very small matter for Shivanna. He will address it as soon as he is back in Bangalore.���������
