Priya Mani is quite the busy bee these days, literally living out of a suitcase, as she jets between Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kochi and Dubai, among other cities. She, of course, has no complaints and is happy with the variety in the work she has on hand. Apart from the dance shows she is judging on TV, her commitments to the Kannada film Nanna Prakaara and a new Telugu horror-thriller project that she has just begun, Priya is scheduled to join the team of the new Kannada sci-fi thriller Dr 56, in which she plays a pivotal role.
“I am a CBI officer in the film, who investigates a spate of murders. The team, led by debutant director Raji Ananda Leela, is rather new, but I liked the concept. I will join the set by the second week of December,” says Priya. This will, incidentally, be Priya’s second tryst as a CBI officer, which could just be her first onscreen. “I played a CBI officer in RP Patnaik’s film long ago, but I have no idea about its status. In Dr 56, we are taking a casual approach, as far as my look is concerned,” she signs off.
