Prem’s next is a retro action film set in North Karnataka

Actor Nenapirali Prem, who was last seen in Premam Poojyam, has signed his next with Andondittu Kaala director Keerthi. The movie is said to be an out-and-out action film, set in North Karnataka.

Speaking about the yet-untitled project, which was announced as #Prem27, on the occasion of the actor’s birthday, director Keerthi said, “Prem 27 will be very different from my first movie. Andondittu Kaala, starring Vinay Rajkumar and Aditi Prabhudeva, is a feel-good movie. But this is completely opposite. Prem will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar. The movie is set in a small village in North Karnataka. The story begins in 1960 and ends in 1980s and has a raw subject.”

“We are prepping ourselves to make the film era-appropriate. The film will have North-Karnataka dialect, too. We have given a cinematic touch to a few real incidents that took place in North Karnataka,” he adds.

According to makers, Prem, who is all set to play an angry young man, will be seen in a rugged look. The actor, who is known for playing a lover boy in most of his films, is trying something out of his comfort zone. Speaking about the film, Prem said, “We are in the final stage of scripting. This is an out-and-out action film. We will reveal more details once the script work is complete. The team is very enthusiastic.”

The movie is likely to take off in June.
