Prem’s film courts controversy

Recently, Prem-starrer Mast Mohabbat went on the floor, but it looks like the film is already embroiled in a controversy.
Producer Pawan Kumar is upset as he registered the title Mohabbat in 2011. “We registered the title Mohabbat back in 2011, but another film has begun shooting with the title Mast Mohabbat. I am surprised that the (Film) Chamber allowed them to use a similar title,” says Pawan, adding, “I have already completed a week’s shoot and plan on resuming it next year.I met (Producer’s Association) Secretary Soorappa Babu, who asked me to return the title. This came as a rude shock and is a setback for new producers like me.” Prem, who is currently shooting in Ooty for Mast Mohabbat, spoke to BT about the issue. “My film is called Mast Mohabbat and the title was cleared by the film chamber. Mast Mohabbat is different from just Mohabbat. There are no similarities with Pawan’s film,” he said.
Soorappa added, “The Chamber has time and again resolved such issues by asking the filmmakers to add different words to similar titles.”
