Mahesh Babu’s
Prem Adda – which released in December 2012 and starred Prem in the lead – is now facing legal problems. Objections have been raised to the lyrics of a song in the film, because of which the CDs have been seized.
It is said that the lyrics in the song
Melukote Hudgi Oblu, written by Malavalli Saikrishna, has hurt religious sentiments. Hence, a case has been filed at the Bangalore court and a summons has been sent to the director and songwriter.
The court has ordered that the audio CDs be seized.
Prem Adda, which also starred
Kriti Kharbanda, was a Kannada remake of the Tamil film
Subramaniapuram. The music for the film was scored by V Harikrishna. This was the first time that Prem – who is known for directing his films in which he acts – had acted under the direction of someone other than himself.
