Playing a talkative girl was quite challenging, says Adhvithi Shetty
After a three-year hiatus, romantic comedy Sugar Factory will be actor Adhvithi Shetty’s first comeback release. The project, directed by Deepak Aras, is set to hit theatres in February. It has Darling Krishna and Sonal Monteiro playing the lead roles.
“My last release was Fan in 2019. After that, COVID hit, but I never stopped working. I am glad that Sugar Factory is hitting the screens now,” says Adhvithi.
Speaking about her character in the film, Adhvithi says, “I play the role of Nandini, lovingly called Nandu, who works at an event management company. She is a very talkative girl, which is the polar opposite of my real-life personality. So, it is one of the most challenging characters of my career. I had lengthy dialogues too. I used to prepare for scenes a day in advance, rehearsing dialogues to avoid any hassles.”
Working with Krishna
Adhvithi is paired opposite Darling Krishna in the film. “On the set, he was an easy-going person and very friendly, but when it comes to work, he is very serious. There is a scene where I had to throw a banana peel on him, which was funny,” she adds.
Multi-starrer
“For the first time in my career, I have worked in a movie that has an ensemble cast. I have known Sonal Monteiro for many years, which made it easier,” Adhvithi adds.
The actress also has Brahmakamala, Race, Cadburys, and Iravan in the pipeline. “Brahmakamala is a female oriented movie. We are hoping to get a few awards for it. Race is a sports drama, Cadburys has a romantic element, and Iravan is a suspense thriller,” she concludes.
