Mysuru girl Ananya Bhat has bagged a pivotal role in the director BS Pradeep Varma’s Urvi
, which is set to release this week. The actress, who has dabbled in acting and singing in theatre before foraying into Sandalwood, says, “Acting is not new to me. I had acted in few plays before entering the film industry. I was thrilled to have shared screen space with veteran actors like
Achyuth Kumar.”
About her role in the female-centric movie, she adds, “I play Achyuth Kumar’s daughter — a girl who hails from an affluent businessman family. My character later realizes that whatever her father has earned is by illegal means, like smuggling and the flesh trade. So, she plans to kill her father.” Although
Ananya has made her acting debut with Urvi, she says that her top priority is singing, “I will accept acting offers only if I get interesting roles, else I will continue to sing for movies,” she adds. Ananya has crooned for hit movies like
Lucia
and Rama Rama Re.
