People like watching Diganth and me together: Aindrita
Aindrita Ray makes a rather special appearance in the upcoming Kannada film Sharp Shooter. Her item number — Kunte Bille — was written and conceptualized by the film’s director Ghouse Peer, and was shot earlier this year.
“I took up this song for two main reasons. One was because of the director. He seemed like he had a pretty good concept in place for the number.

And the second was because the film stars Diganth in the lead role. Diganth and I have had two hit films together earlier and people like watching us together onscreen. Even though we appear together for just this song, it adds to the film. We shot in February this year, but the song has not been released yet. It will be something that the audience will get to see only on the big screen once the film releases,” says Aindrita, adding, “It is an interesting film for Diganth also, who is looking to break away from his lover-boy image. He is a very athletic person, who can do front and back flips without any help. It’s nice to see him get a script that explores this side to him.”
Incidentally, dance has always been a passion for Aindrita. “I learnt ballet and jazz earlier and used to perform as well. My dance has always been appreciated. I am also judging a dance reality show on TV and am totally enjoying my stint there,” she says.
In addition to Sharp Shooter, Aindrita has two Kannada films waiting to hit the screens. “I have completed two films, the release dates for both have been delayed. As an actor, our job is on the set. After that, decisions depend on the producers. I have not signed up for anything new as I want to wait for these two to release. But there are other interesting developments — a production venture, which will take shape next year,” she concludes.
