Director Pavan Wadeyar, who rose to fame with his debut Govindaya Namaha, starring Komal in the lead, and whose second film Googly (with Yash and Kriti Kharbanda) is currently in theatres, is all set to make the transition from behind the camera to in front of it. Pavan, a former Yogaraj Bhat assistant and one of his protégés, will debut as hero in a Yogaraj Bhat production, to be directed by another of his assistants,
Veerendra.
Both Pavan and Bhatru confirmed the news, with the latter telling TOI that financial aspects are still being worked out for the project. He also told us that
Govindaya Namaha heroine
Parul Yadav was being considered for the lead role opposite her Kannada debut director.
But why has the 24 year old decided to turn to acting now? “When Yogaraj sir’s
Pancharangi was packed up, on the last day all of us were dancing and having fun and I danced continuously for a while, which everyone appreciated and sir suggested that I should act. Then when Veerendra’s script came up, I thought why not give it a try. This is a romantic-drama and has a very nice script. Moreover, Veerendra is a good friend and hence, I signed up for it,” says Pavan.
