TOI had earlier reported that Pavan Wadeyar was slated to direct the Telugu remake of his hit film Govindaya Namaha and that a Tamil remake was also on the anvil. While it is still not clear if Pavan, who is currently busy with his next, Googly, will direct the Tamil version, rumours have emerged that Pavan is making the Telugu version with actor Manoj Manchu. Govindaya Namaha, which starred Komal Kumar in the lead and was the story of a man who fell in love with four women, also starred Parul Yadav, Malavika and Rekha, among others. The film had fetched Pavan a nomination in the Best Debutant Director category at the recently held Udaya Film Awards.
In fact, one of the highlights of
Govindaya Namaha was the song
Pyaarge Aagbittaithe, which featured Komal and Parul. In the days after
Why This Kolaveri Di swept the nation, Pyaarge Aagbittaithe also went viral on a video-sharing site, much before the film's theatrical release, with many dubbing it
Sandalwood's
Kolaveri.
