Parvathamma saw in me what I did not see myself: Ramya
Kannada actress turned politician Ramya may not have been in town on the day the person who helped begin her film career passed away, but she remembers Parvathamma Rajkumar fondly in her prayers. Here is what she has to say:
I owe my innings in the film industry to the family. They have always played a huge role through every step of the way — making me what I am today.
1x1 polls
I have this extreme fondness for the family, not only have they made a career for so many of us, they also held the entire industry together for so many years. And the person behind all of this, and also the one who changed my name to Ramya was Parvathamma Rajkumar. I am known as Ramya because of her, she gave me that identity and I am always indebted to her. In addition to my first film, there were so many other films under her banner that I feel honoured to have been a part of. Whenever someone close to me passes, I remember them for all the good memories, and with Parvathamma’s passing, there are so many such memories coming to mind. She has played such a big role in my life, she believed in me, she saw in me what I did not see myself.
