A genre like

horror

is seen as one that can potentially keep audiences, especially families, away from movie halls. So, it comes as a surprise that a debutant would take that route. But such was director Girish G’s confidence in the tale he had written that he knew his choice of genre would not be an issue. The fact that his film,

Ond Kathe Hella

, was awarded U/A certification without cuts or mutes is testimony to that.
The salient feature of his film, though, is that it is an

anthology

of five tales, each of which, presented as different chapters, has its own track. “Normally, anthologies have a common thread that ties up the story in one logical ending. Here, that is not entirely the case and while characters from different chapters come onscreen together, there is no connect between the stories. Audiences will get the feel of watching five films in one movie. The only common factor, perhaps, is a rooster, which has been used in our promotional material as well. Its significance is major plot point and brings in a bit of suspense to the narrative,” adds Girish, who has also acted in one of the tales.
