has taken to social media, requesting fans to not pressure the government over constructing an Ambareesh memorial due to the prevailing circumstances. Tomorrow is Ambareesh’s death anniversary.

The lengthy post on social media reads (translated), “It has come to my notice through social media that fans’ associations of Dr Ambareesh are making demands to construct a memorial and to name a road or street after his name.
“I can't express the pain which has been caused due to the tragic death of Puneeth Rajkumar, who was like my son. The film industry, fans, and the people of Karnataka have suffered a huge loss because of his demise. The decision to fight at this time will add salt to the wound.

“Ambareesh never believed in any awards or felicitation as nothing can match the love and affection shown by fans. To all Ambareesh fans, I wish that you would also follow his path. Protesting for awards at this time brings disrepute to Ambareesh. I hope the government will respond positively to all our desires in the coming days.”
