Not about numbers, want to do memorable movies: Thapaswini

Thapaswini Poonacha, who debuted in Harikathe Alla Girikathe, has signed her second film, Gajarama, a mass entertainer which is Sunil Kumar’s directorial debut in Sandalwood.
Thapaswini, who is looking forward to sharing screen space with Rajavardan, tells us, “Usually, there’s not much scope for a heroine’s performance in commercial films, but in Gajarama, I portray a bubbly village girl called Anjali. There are two other leads in the movie and my character traverses between the two. My de-glam look will be something new for me and we will shoot in the pristine locales of Chikkamagaluru and Sakleshpur.”
Thapaswini is happy with the way her career is progressing. “I always wanted to be an independent businesswoman, I did not aspire to become an actress. I landed an offer in Harikathe All Girikathe, thanks to social media. I wanted to make a difference by doing memorable, performance-driven roles. I don’t want to do movies just for numbers.”
