Last year, director
Pawan Kumar started a unique trend of making films which are funded by crowd. Lucia, not only garnered critical acclaim, but it did decent business at box office. However, many small-budget and experimental filmmakers dissent the fact that
Sandalwood does not lend them any help.
Recently former minister BT Lalitha Naik and her son actor-director Omprakash Naik, publicly criticised Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) for not helping producers who make small-budget films.
Omprakash is all set to release his next experimental film Naanu Avalu Mattu Kannadi soon.
