No love left for Kantara after OTT release?

Box office success Kantara, a Kannada action thriller written and directed by Rishab Shetty, brought in over 400 crores.
The actors' performances (especially those of Shetty and Kishore) as well as the director, scripting, production design, cinematography, proper displaying of the Bhoota Kola, action sequences, editing, soundtrack, and musical score were lauded by critics.
It became the second-highest-grossing Kannada film of all time and the second-highest-grossing Kannada film of 2022 thanks to the movie's tremendous commercial success.

The story of "Kantara" begins in 1847 when a King gives the local tribes the forest area in return for peace and protection from their god, the Panjurli Daiva. Although the families will continue to follow the God, he is forewarned that any attempt to break his word will anger the God. Cut to 1970: The King's ancestor wants the land taken back. At the Bhoota Kola celebration, he makes the request. Essentially, it is an amalgamation of recital, dance, music, and costumes. Shiva's father is the one doing it, and it appears that at this time the God himself is possessed by him.

The movie was praised by actors and socialites all over the country after its release. However, recently, the movie was released on OTT platforms, and this seems to have become a plot twist.
Many who watched the movie on OTT are now saying that Kantara was over hyped. Their posts on social media are being reshared and backed by many others.
“Totally overrated. What the hell?! 80% of the movie is regular mundane stuff. The protagonist drinks, hands around with his friends, villagers clamoring over a land dispute, a person gets killed and fights. Nothing that warrants so much attention. Seen it 100 times. The 20% interesting part was the demigod possession. But, totally wasted away.” a user commented. Scroll down for more.
