New song from Mataash out today

It’s a film about demonetisation and this evening, at 8 pm to be precise, the team of the upcoming Mataash will release a song that aptly describes what the film is about. “The song, Namo Venkatesha, sets the tone for what is to come and runs along with the title cards at the start of the film. Written by Kaviraj, it explores the aftermath of demonetisation, without touching upon the policy as such, but by highlighting how people reacted to it, the
serpentine queues at ATMs, the limitations on withdrawals, other rumours, etc., and how certain others made merry with the sudden inflow of cash at banks,” explains the film’s director, SD Aravinda.The lyrical video will feature caricatures by artiste Naganath Gowripura, which sum up the lyrics.
