The 67th
National Awards
have been announced and a pleasant surprise for Kannada film fans comes in the award for Best Action for the
Kannada film Avane Srimannarayana
. This also comes as a double celebration for
Vikram Mor who had won the award last year as well for his work in
KGF: Chapter 1.
Rakshit Shetty, the lead actor and producer of
Avane Srimannarayana
, is ecstatic about this win.
"We had not imagined that we would win an award in the action cateogory. This comes as a happy surprise for the team. Only the team knows how the choreography for those sequences have been. We worked hard on them as it was something new and novel for the film industry and it took a lot of planning and effort to pull off the same on screen. This is one reason why the action sequences from this film will remain special for the team," shares Rakshit, who adds that the second win for Vikram will also ensure the nation takes notice of the Kannada film industry when it comes to massy and commercial films, which they have already begun to.
Rakshit and the team had shot for the stunts in specially created sets that took many months of planning and had a big ensemble cast too, which made the sequences seem extravagant and a treat for all fans.
Rakshit
says that the team will definitely celebrate this win of Vikram and it will be one of their biggest wins for this team, which was a dream and vision for all of them.
