Nataraja Service promises to be a laugh riot

This week’s Kannada release is the Pavan Wadeyar-directorial, Nataraja Service — a clean comedy that the makers claim will work for audiences of all age groups. Produced by NS Rajkumar, the film, says Pavan is just the right stress-buster that audiences need, given the trying times of the past few days following the demonetization of `500 and `1,000 notes. “All that people have been doing in recent times is fret about how they will exchange their unused illegal tender or how they will get their hands on small change or new notes. They have had absolutely no time to just sit back and relax, and audiences who choose to watch Nataraja Service will not regret it, as they will be entertained from start to finish,” says the director.
This is Pavan’s first film with Sharan and the filmmaker says that the role he has given the actor is very different from what he has hitherto done onscreen. “There are certain expectations of Sharan’s brand of comedy, which will be broken with this film. For starters, the humour is not loud and does not involve too many characters. His characterization and the story itself will be fresh for Kannada movie audiences and provide plenty of laughs,” says Pavan.
Nearly 90% of the film has been shot in forest areas of Dandeli and Sirsi, among others, with the lead protagonists — Sharan and Mayuri — on the run from certain people. “Much of the time, Sharan and Mayuri are seen walking, which justifies the title. Also, considering that they are being chased for the entire duration of the film, they will be seen in the same costume. The most challenging part in the making was in terms of the cinematography, as maintaining the lighting of each scene while shooting in a forest was difficult. Cinematographer Arul Somasundaram rose to the occasion and the visuals look stunning onscreen,” adds Pavan.
But all this apart, what also works for the film is the music by Anoop Seelin. “All the tracks are doing well on music charts, especially Allah Allah, and the songs add volumes to the package that we are presenting,” Pavan signs off.
