Automobile businessman Shekhar Yaluvigi turned producer, along with Siddesh Viraktamat, with Naragunda Bandaya, which hit theatres yesterday. He shares the reasons he decided to back this story, which are also why he thinks audiences should not miss out on this Omkar Films production. “The film presents the historic farmers’ uprising that took place in Naragunda in the 80s, bringing out the struggles they faced and the tussle that took place between them and government.
The protagonist is Veerappa Kadlikoppa (
Raksh), a real-life farmer who was instrumental in the uprising. Bringing such an incident onscreen will make the current generation aware of what the farmers went through,” explains Shekhar, adding, “Commercial elements like song and dance have been woven into the narrative to ensure that it is a power-packed entertainer. The movie is backed by an experienced technical team with renowned director
Nagendra Magadi at the helm. The film has released in approximately 120 theatres across the state, and we are looking at increasing this to 200 theatres over the weekend.”
