Mysoreans set to shine in Sandalwood this year

Over the years, Mysore has consistently produced quality talent that has made a mark in Sandalwood. Be it the late Vishnuvardhan, KS Ashwath, MP Shankar or even Darshan, there’s always a steady stream of actors, singers and technicians ready to hit the spotlight. This year is no different. A host of Mysoreans seem all set to rock the industry. Here’s a look:
TANMAYEE S KASHYAP
This young Mysorean was first seen in the critically-acclaimed film Siddaganga, which was based on a brother-sister sentiment.Tanmayee, a final year engineering student, followed that up with a cameo in Shivarajkumar’s most recent release Kaddipudi.
INDU NAGARAJ
She shot to fame with the song Pyarge Aagbitaithe from Pavan Wadeyar’s debut movie Govindaya Namaha, which featured Komal and Parul Yadav. A trained Carnatic singer, Indu is slowly and steadily making inroads in Sandalwood, having also sung for Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar’s Breaking News.
DHANANJAY
This young engineer-turned-actor won accolades for his acting prowess in the movie Director’s Special. Though he had to wait for two years after the launch of the film to finally mark his debut, things are certainly on course for him now. Dhananjay will be seen in the upcoming movies Raate and Huchcha.
SUNIL NAGAPPA
He shot to fame with the famous tele-serial Krishna Rukmini. Sunil made his big screen foray as hero with the film Madarangi, which was a moderate hit at the box office. The actor is, however, eagerly awaiting the release of the Preetam Gubbi’s film Nam Duniya Nam Style.
VASU DIXIT
A member of the bandSwarathma, Vasu will be making his debut in Sandalwood with the upcoming comedy movie Money Honey Shani. It remains to be seen if Vasu will make acting a permanent career choice.
POORNACHANDRA TEJASWI
Pawan Kumar’s upcoming film Lucia will mark the debut of Poornachandra as music director. With the audio of the film just in the market, he has already moved on and scored the music for his second movie, Nanu Nam Hudgi, which has Meera Nandaa and Arun Gowda in the lead.
VIJAY KUMAR
For this actor, the journey has been from the stage to the small screen and then, movies. Vijay Kumar is currently awaiting the release of his film January Ondu Bidugade which has Pooja Gandhi in the lead.
BHARAT SARJA
Yet another Sarja boy on the block. Bharat, a relative of action king Arjun Sarja, will make his debut with Pulikeshi, which is touted to be an out-and-out action movie. Interestingly, even before the release of his first film, Bharat has been signed up for another film called Hanuman.
