Must watch 101 Kannada movies

Movie-buffs across the world are marking the 100 years of Indian cinema. And, when we talk about Indian cinema, how can we forget Kannada films.
Kannada film industry is over 80 years old. Over the years some highly acclaimed and commercially successful Kannada films were made in Sandalwood. Now, a book chronicling 101 best Kannada films and DVD was launched recently.The book has been written by Ravindra. The book brings into one platform all the Kannada movies one must watch before one dies.
In order to mark the centenary year of Indian cinema, Sandalwood is joining the other three South Indian film industries to celebrate the grand occasion.
All the four South-Indian film industries--Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam--will come together to celebrate the 100 years of Indian cinema on a grand scale. The three-day gala event, starting from July 12 will be hosted at Chennai, confirms B Vijayakumar, president of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC). The who's who of South-Indian film fraternity, along with Bollywood celebrities will attend the massive gathering at Chennai's Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium. The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) is organizing the event.
"The celebration will highlight the journey of South-Indian cinema and its contribution to Indian cinema in general. We will honour South Indian actors, directors, and technicians," adds Vijayakumar.
