Actor Munna is ecstatic. And why wouldnt he be? His latest flick Kanden Kadhalai has just hit screens and the actor is on cloud nine.I am reprising the role of Anshuman played by Tarun Arora in Jab We Met. In the Hindi version, Anshuman was portrayed as a negative character, but the Tamil version shows him in positive light. Even though he doesnt accept Tamannaahs love in Kanden Kadhalai, he has reasons to justify it.
The climax of the film is just incredible, starts off the beaming actor.
The film has been directed by Kannan, who worked as an assistant to Mani Ratnam.
It was great working with the team of Kanden Kadhalai. Director Kannan is a tough taskmaster. He accorded importance to facial expressions and wasnt satisfied unless he got the best out of us. And thats not surprising as he comes from Mani Ratnam sirs school of direction, adds Munna.
Lady luck surely seems to be smiling on the actor who has also managed to grab a role in one of the biggest movies being made, Mani Ratnams Raavan.
Its like a dream come true. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would work with Mani sir or meet Aishwarya Rai. But today, I am on top of the world because this is the most prestigious project Ive been a part of. Every time Mani sir said action, I would start trembling. I was very nervous on the sets, but Mani sir would act out every scene and ask me to repeat the same. Sometimes, he would scold me to ensure that I delivered my best, recalls Munna.
Be it Kanden Kadhalai or Raavan, both seem to have done a whole lot of good for the actors reputation. Yes, they have worked wonders for my career. People have now started recognising me. A couple of days back, I dropped into a restaurant in Chennai and a group of young women approached me and asked if I had acted in Kanden Kadhalai. It feels nice to be recognised, he says with a grin.
So, what does the future look like for this chocolate boy? I am reading a few scripts, but I am not in a hurry to sign projects. I have made quite a few mistakes in the past by choosing insignificant roles and I dont want to repeat that. I am extra cautious after Kanden Kadhalai and Raavan. From now on, I have decided to do only full-fledged hero roles, concludes the actor.
