With several mainstream filmmakers going back to explore the roots, a team of newbies is ready to present a film that pays tribute to the age-old art form of Karnataka, Veeragase. Titled Paramvah, the film also explores the father-son relationship angle, which the director feels, is rarely explored
Explaining about the film, director Santosh explains, “The film takes off in Mysuru.
Our film’s protagonist comes from a family, which has been performing Veeragase from ages. It is a legacy. Both father and son dream of performing in dasara in front of the Mysore kings. The protagonist’s father is specially-abled, and wants his son to be a Veeragase performer. The journey from there forms the story,” explains
Explaining further, Santosh adds, “ The whole team is new and the lead character is played by Prem. He is from the theatre background. Mythri, a fresh face, is playing the female lead. Neenasam’s principal Ganesh Heggodu is making his film debut with Paramvah. I wanted someone new to play the father. So, we got him on board. The film’s music is done by
Poornachandra Tejaswi. The film has Veeragaase in first and last 10 mins. The whole film is about father and son’s journey.”
Paramvah is also a crowd-funded film, with over 200 people investing in it.
