Model-actress Nithya Shri bags Vrithra

There has been great curiosity regarding Vrithra, the female-oriented film being helmed by Goutham Iyer. The film was launched with Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, but the actress had to opt out due to her packed commitments in the Telugu film industry and the fact that the team wanted to work on the film immediately. Now, model-danseuse-actress Nithya Shri, who has also assisted Rajiv Menon on Solo, has bagged the lead role of an investigative officer.“I was looking for someone who would fit the bill perfectly. We auditioned over a 100 new faces. We chanced upon Nithya’s profile on Facebook and that was how we got in touch with her. She gave us a fabulous audition and that is how she was on board,” says Goutham.
Acting and showbiz isn't new to her, says Nithya. “I have been a freelance dancer with Nritarutya, where I have been a part of their staging of Mughal-e-Azam. I’ve also modelled on the ramp and done ad films. I’d done a small role in Kaatru Veliyidai as Karthi’s sister. I then acted in Solo in one of the stories and also assisted Rajiv Menon in the film. I’ve done a Tamil non-commercial film recently and wanted to do something different and commercial. This came along and I am thrilled, as it is the perfect commercial launch for me into Kannada cinema," says the Bengaluru girl.
