#MeToo Movement: Arjun Sarja's aide claims Sruthi Hariharan's allegation is an ''attempt to hurt Hindu sentiments''

A lot has been said and done ever since the

#MeToo

movement picked up steam in India, but in a first, an associate of Arjun Sarja, accused by Sruthi Hariharan of

sexual harassment

, has claimed that the charge against the actor is an “anti-Hindu” conspiracy.

According to reports on The Quint, the aide claimed that actress Hariharan reportedly received funds from aboard to stop the construction of a

Hanuman

temple.

The man, identified as Prashant Sambargi even went on to claim that the entire #MeToo campaign was an “attempt to hurt Hindu sentiments.”

This statement was reportedly made outside the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce when a “reconciliation meeting” between Hariharan and Sarja was held. The meeting, however, failed to yield a solution and ended with Arjun filing a Rs 5 crore defamation case against Sruthi at the Bengaluru City Civil Court on Thursday.
