Meghana’s happy feet explore a French connection

Bonjour France, says Meghana Gaonkar, as the splendour of Versailles, and the swirl of crepes, leave her in awe
Meghana’s happy feet explore a French connection
She calls herself Ms Happy Feet, especially when she dons her wanderlust hat. Meghana Gaonkar, a self-confessed travel buff lists France among her favourites. The city of love, Paris, sits atop her list. “I’ve visited it many times; in transit to the US, and on exclusive holidays. I attended a friend’s wedding in the French countryside of Mont-Saint-Michel last time, and decided on my next trip, I wanted to explore more of this beautiful region,” shares Meghana, set for a historical trip to Versailles.

Her go-to is solo, though she has cousins in tow for this trip. “One of my cousins is visiting Paris for the first time, and I am glad I know the city well enough to be a guide to her. This time however, it was more about just taking in the city on long walks by the River Seine,” she says.

Of Crepes, coffee and conversations
“The coffee lover in me comes out in full force in Paris. They make the best. Sitting, and chilling at street bistros is what I enjoy. And the crepes, I love the classic chocolate, croissants, macarons – Oh, and I don’t worry about diets while I am here,” she laughs.

Art Museums and more
Soaking in the sights, sounds and art trails, Meghana tells us, “We have been visiting museums like Louvre and some others that are off the tourist map, as well as the parks at an unhurried pace. I’m here for 10 days, so it’s going to be a leisurely and meaningful trip with lots of fun, food and learning.”
