Meghana cheating case: No evidence, say cops
The police in Bengaluru have closed the investigation into an e-mail which had made allegations against actress Meghana Raj. A man from Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, had e-mailed to the JP Nagar police station in Bengaluru alleging that actress Meghana Raj was his wife and had taken away the marriage certificate. He demanded an enquiry into it. The police found that there was no evidence in the tall claims made by the person and closed the issue.

R Janarthan, a resident of TN, had also written a mail to the commissioner of police, Bengaluru, alleging that he had complained about his 'wife' to the National Human Rights Commission. He allegeed that Meghana married him on February 26, 2015 but refused to give him the marriage certificate and till date had refused to contact him. The mail alleged that Meghana was misusing the marriage certificate and demanded that she be arrested.
Police sources told Mirror that the case has been closed as there is no witness or evidence to the allegations made in the e-mail.
On the other hand, it looks like a case of publicity stunt by the TN man who has made the implausible claims. The actress took to a micro-blogging site to thank the police, "I thank Karnataka police, press and media and my fans who have stood by me through this. Such baseless and childish acts do not disturb me. The outcome of the investigation and the closure of the case is quite heartening and vindicates my stand. Thanking one and all again."
