He has made one of the biggest Tulu films ever,

Chaali Polilu

, so, as

Veerendra Shetty

attempts to try his luck with Kannada audiences, there is anticipation. His first project,

Savarnadeergha Sandhi

, sees him debut as actor and producer, as well and pairs him with

Krishnaa

, the daughter of actor Ravi Bhat. Produced by Veeru Talkies and Lilac Entertainment, the film is a comedy that follows an uneducated

rowdy

, who is well versed in Kannada grammar, which is explained in the narrative. “One of the biggest issues with Kannada cinema is that most films are not content driven. My film is an attempt at addressing that in an entertaining manner. When I wrote Savarnadeergha Sandhi, I knew that I had to make the film myself to do justice to the content. Eventually, I got two of my friends to back the project too, while music composer Mano Murthy also joined in after working with us,” explains Veerendra.
The film, he adds, was shot at locations across Karnataka, with an old pre-Independence home a highlight.
