Mary Kom launched her much-awaited autobiography, Unbreakable, at the Forum Mall in Bangalore today. Guests at the do included Bangalore-based Bollywood singer
Kavita Krishnamurthy and her husband violinist L Subramaniam.
The book is said to chronicle Mary's relentless struggle and unflinching passion for boxing. "My story is the same as that of thousands of women in this country.
The reason I decided to pen down my life's battles is so that I could inspire and motivate others to never loose hope and fight for their dreams," says Mary, who adds, "Writing this book was more difficult than winning the bronze medal at the Olympics for sure. Boxing comes naturally to me while writing was a new, much more emotional experience. I usually wrote at home when I had a free time. My family, especially my sister helped me recount some of my early life experiences." While she has no plans of writing another book any time soon, Mary admits that writing has had a therapeutic effect on her. Next on the cards is a biopic on Mary, wherein Bollywood actress
Priyanka Chopra will play Mary for the big screen.
