Manvitha Harish gets into hippy mode

...for Mental Song
Manvitha Harish is getting a chance to do what she hasn’t got to do so far with

Tagaru

— her first-ever dance number. Although she has been looking forward to this for a very long time, the actress tells us that she was nervous, while shooting for the

Mental Song

, since she had to dance in front of the master dancer himself,

Shivarajkumar

.

“I didn’t have to dance with

Shivanna

in the song, but his presence itself was enough to unnerve me. The steps in the song — that have been choreographed by director Suri — were quite hard. It has different dance styles, such as lyrical hip hop and freestyle, so I already had my task cut out for me. The song was shot over three days in Goa, and we had practised for three days in Bengaluru prior to that. When we were shooting, though, just catching a glimpse of Shivanna used to make me nervous,” says Manvitha, who adds that the feeling remained even after the actor reassured her that she was dancing and emoting well.

Another reason this song is special for Manvitha is that audiences will get to see her in a new avatar. “My character in Tagaru is unique — she is a young, bold, outgoing girl, who loves music, always has a guitar by her side, goes to Goa to party, and when there, she hangs out with hippies. This song will see my character in all her element; she is a true representation of the modern college girl — not your regular girl next door,” adds the young actress.
