Manvita Kamath to frontline PC Shekar's romantic thriller

is all set to begin work on his next film from mid-August. The as-yet-untitled film will feature

Manvita Kamath

in the lead role. The rest of the cast is yet to be formalised and the filmmaker is looking at roping in mostly newcomers.

"This is a genre I have not explored yet. When it comes to romantic films, most often they become revenge dramas. Seldom do we see the mix of romance and thriller elements. This led me to try and take up this story, as I love to try and make cinema that is different," says Shekar, adding that the film is set to go on floors shortly and will be shot in and around Bengaluru in one schedule.

Revealing details about Manvita's character, Shekar shares, "Manvita plays a farmer from a rural background. She is the one who takes ownership of her life and is more manly in her traits, unlike what most people expect from women in such areas. They are expected to be soft and docile. It is a very powerful character and this film chronicles her trials and tribulations."
