When the pandemic-induced lockdown struck,

was shooting for his film

Mugilpete

in Sakleshpur. In the nearly seven months since, the actor has been biding his time waiting to get back to set, which, we are now told will be at the end of October for him. “I was all set to prepare for the shoot, when, about a month ago, my maternal grandfather passed away and we had to head to his hometown, where we were for a while. Since coming back to Bengaluru, I have begun working out again, as I need to be in good shape for the film, in which I play a recovery agent for a motor vehicle finance company. We are looking at resuming shooting by October 20, with an action sequence to be canned in Bengaluru,” says Manuranjan, adding, “Ravi Varma is choreographing the stunt, which is more like an introduction fight for my character.”

The actor adds that he has about 30 days of shoot pending for the Bharath Navunda-directed film. “After the action sequences, we will head back to Sakleshpur, where most of the film is set, for another schedule, probably in November. Mugilpete, which will have music by Sridhar V Sambhram, pairs Manuranjan with model-turned-actress Kayadu Lohar and has Tara, Avinash, Sadhu Kokila and Rangayana Raghu in pivotal roles.
