The unfortunate passing of Kathak exponent Pandit Birju Maharaj has left the art and culture fraternity in shock and mourning. The day was filled with many tributes that were personal and filled with memories, especially from those in the dancing fraternity. Among those who took to their social media to share their tribute was actress and kathak dancer and teacher Manasa Joshi.

She is known for her love for dancing and had even had a live performance in Bengaluru recently. She has always considered Pandit Birju Maharaj to be one of the biggest inspirations for her to be a dancer.

Taking to her Instagram, where she shared an old memory with him, Manasa wrote, "End of an era! A man who personified Art! The heaven’s gotten lucky, and I’m sure the stage up there is set to welcome the Kathakaar. With a heavy heart, we bid adieu to the great master. His aura, kind words, sincerity, passion, dedication and the immense love and joy that he shared through his art is irreplaceable. Cherishing every moment that I got to spend with him."

Manasa was recently seen in the film Amruth Apartments, where she played the role of an investigating officer. Manasa has a couple more films lined up in her kitty and she has also been busy with her other passion - dancing.
