Malashree: My role in Uppu Huli Khara will surely change my onscreen image
Those of you who have checked out Malashree’s video taking the #RomeoChallenge on our social media handles would have got a taste of what the actress is like in real life. While she moved in sync with her co-stars Anushree and Sharath to this number, she soon broke into a cutesy energetic tapankuchi number on her own. And right there is the real

The actress and her director Imran Sardhariya started off on a troubled note when they made their non-compliance issues public right after they began shooting for this film. But the duo put their difference aside and took it up as a challenge to definitely bring in something unique to the table. “For instance, I have played a cop on screen many times. So for Imran Master to be able to portray me in a new avatar and for me to be able to bring to life what he visualized, to the screen, was a challenge we both took up. Needless to say, it is a fun role that all of us have thoroughly enjoyed putting together. And the results will soon be out for everyone to see. I believe that this character will actually open the minds of more directors and filmmakers who will get an idea of how different one who has a longstanding onscreen image can actually be,” she explains.

Going forward, Malashree hopes to continue breaking stereotype and has signed up for a film that sees her playing a rather feminine role. “I’m taking a break from my short haired, mean look and opting to play yet another role with a difference. I also need to shed a couple of kilos before we start off and that’s what’s on the agenda while people enjoy the Uppu Huli Khara ride,” she says.

does showcase me quite differently. Even though I do play a cop here, I play a rather cool cop who is much softer by nature but yet is equally powerful when it comes to getting her point across. The film features three different characters who portray the different spices or tastes that we know in life. And I come in as the ‘sweet’, yet another essential taste we can’t live without, who brings them all together,” says Malashree of her upcoming film produced by NM Ramesh Reddy of Tejeshwini Enterprises.Speaking about the ongoing surge of newcomers in the

cinema space, Malashree tells us, “These days we have newcomers in every department of filmmaking. While the actors impress with the kind of preparation they come with, working with new technicians is almost like being a part of school once more. I personally learn something new from them all the time. Take, for instance, the introduction of a 360 degree trailer that Imran introduced with this film. He comes with so much technical knowledge that there is always scope for experiments.”Going forward, Malashree hopes to continue breaking stereotype and has signed up for a film that sees her playing a rather feminine role. “I’m taking a break from my short haired, mean look and opting to play yet another role with a difference.
