In the film, the actor plays a typical rich spoilt brat, whose sole intention is to live the good life. 'But then, my character dies, and someone else assumes my identity, which forms the rest of the story,' he says. Working on the film, says Madhusudan, was a fun experience, considering that the cast and crew were newbies. 'Even though I was the veteran on the team, having been in films and TV for nearly a decade, no one on the team knew about my work and this was my Kannada debut. There were no ego issues and we were like a bunch of pals on set,' he says.
Now that he is set to make his Kannada debut, will we see more of Madhusudan here? 'Well, that depends on whether audiences accept me after seeing Asthitva. I have never had to go looking for work and I want that to continue. Some years ago, I did a Kannada serial called Parinitha, but that folded up in less than a year and I haven't been able to take up any other work here because I have been busy with my Telugu serials. In fact, I am quite happy with the way my career is going right now. But considering that I have my roots here, it would be nice to do more Kannada work. Also, making the transition from the small screen to the big screen is easier in the Kannada industry than it is in Telugu,' he signs off.
Madhusudan

'I did an acting course from an institute in Visakhapatnam, and almost immediately got opportunities to work in Telugu films and TV. I have been lucky, as there was no period of struggle for me. I played the lead role in three films, but it was TV that really took off for me,' says Madhusudan, who now lives in Hyderabad. After doing more than 700 episodes of Gorantha Deepam, and currently starring in two other soaps '

film debut with Asthitva. The Kannada film, says the actor, happened to him quite by chance. 'There was a brief period when I didn't have any TV work and took up a job at a firm run by Vishwa Cariappa, the producer of Asthitva. While I worked there, he had no idea that I was an actor. Finally, when I got an offer for another serial, I put in my papers and told him about my showbiz career. He kept that in mind and whenAsthitva
