The pandemic has caused a lot of distress to all the film artists and workers who have suddenly found themselves out of work. In a noble spirit to support them in these difficult times, many actors and celebrities have stepped up to the occasion by offering necessary goods. In the same vein, current M.L.A of the Chamarajpet constituency, B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan has come forward to distribute grocery kits to many film artists and workers.
At the event organized yesterday (25th May), former chief minister of Karnataka Shri.
Siddaramaiah was present to voluntarily carry out the distribution activity. Mr. Siddaramaiah shared a couple of snippets from the event on social media and also revealed that the state president of Karnataka Youth Congress, Raksha Ramaiah, and Hebbal legislator Byrathi Suresh too were present in attendance.
Speaking to the media after the event, Siddaramaiah also shed light on the prevailing issues for many workers, including those in media and press. "While there were correct reparations made the past year, the state government has lagged behind this time around. Tamil Nadu and Kerala states have risen to the occasion by distributing rations to so many families - if they can do it, why can't it be done here," questioned the former chief minister.
