KM Chaitanya
’s next project is a comedy caper, marking his return to the genre nearly a decade after
Parari
. The director is thrilled with his team and is excited with what he has seen so far in the as-yet-untitled film that began last weekend.
Likith Shetty and
Amrutha Iyengar play the lead roles, making this their second collaboration after Family Pack. Incidentally, this film is being backed by Malayalam film actor
Ann Augustine.
“This is a comedy that comprises mainly youngsters. While we may have the direction and technical crew on point, the onus lies on the actors to deliver and I seem to have got a good team. They are getting along well and we get to see them rehearsing and upbeat every time we break for setting up new shots, so I just have to rehearse. This is very necessary for a genre like this and I am glad I got the right bunch,” shares Chaitanya, who adds that the cast also has Thandav Ram,
Ajay Raj and Dhananjaya Achar.

Avinash and Vijay Chendur, who bring in the right mix. So, it has been a fun time so far. I have
Manohar Joshi
on the set as my DOP. I am happy to be doing comedy once again after Parari, where, also, I had a team of young actors,” shares Chaitanya.
The team is currently shooting in Tumakuru and is looking to complete this project in more or less a single schedule, with a minor break in between. Ann adds, “This has been an interesting journey, to be on the set, but not shooting. But I am enjoying the process and like the team.”
