Kichcha Sudeep dismisses rumours of his political entry, says he will only campaign, not contest for the party

Superstar Kichcha Sudeep has denied rumours of him joining the current ruling party. On Wednesday (Apr 5), the star stated that he won't be contesting in the Assembly polls, however, he will camapaign for the party. "I will only campaign for BJP, not contest Assembly polls," the 'Vikrant Rona' actor told the reports at the Bengaluru airport. The assembly elections in Karnataka are slated on May 10.

Earlier there were reports that Kichcha Sudeep might likely join the party on Wednesday, in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and other leaders.

This has come hours after Kichcha Sudeep received letters threatening to release his private video. Bengaluru South DCP P Krishnakant, has confirmed that a FIR has been registered, “We have registered an FIR based on the complaint regarding actor Kichcha Sudeep receiving a threat letter; investigation underway.”

The police has reportedly registered a case under sections 504, 506 and 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Speaking to ANI, Kichcha Sudeep stated, “Yes, I have received a threat letter and I know who sent it to me. I know it is from someone in the film industry. I will give a befitting reply to them. I will work in favour of those who stand by my side in my tough times.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kichcha Sudeep’s recent outing was ‘Vikrant Rona’.
