'KGF' director Prashanth Neel reveals he would prefer making films like 'Inception' or 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun'

Director Prashanth Neel has a track record of delivering blockbusters since his first venture, 'KGF Part 1,' and has then directed 'KGF Part 2' and 'Salaar: Part 1,' known for their impactful storylines and an added touch of mass entertainment.

Recently the 44-year-old filmmaker shared a surprising comment. Known for his high-octane action films, Neel admitted that the movies he creates are far from the kind he personally enjoys watching.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Neel confessed that his personal taste in cinema leans toward films like 'Inception' or family dramas such as 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun.'. However, he acknowledged that the South Indian film industry thrives on mass entertainers, which drive box office revenue. For this reason, he has focused on creating larger-than-life narratives that cater to audience demands.

His quote in the report reads, "If given a choice, I would make a very different kind of movie. I'd made something like an Inception. I’d make a love story like Hum Aapke Hain Koun. But the viability, the feasibility, and the business; they all lie somewhere else."

Despite his wish to experiment with other genres, Neel continues to deliver what audiences expect from him, which is an action-packed thriller. For his next venture, tentatively titled 'NTR31' and rumored to be named 'Dragon,' stars Jr. NTR. The project has already begun shooting, with Jr NTR set to join the schedule soon.

Meanwhile, Neel is also working on 'Salaar Part 2: Shouryanga Parvam,' the sequel to the Prabhas-starrer blockbuster 'Salaar.'. The first installment was a massive success, and expectations are sky-high for this saga. The film featured Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles.
