Kelly Dorji to make Sandalwood debut

He is a familiar face in the Telugu film industry, and now, Kelly Dorji will make his debut in Sandalwood with the remake of the Telugu hit Dookudu, alongside none other than Puneeth Rajkumar. “I am excited to step into the Kannada film industry as it will expand my horizons in the south,” says Kelly, who has signed up for another Kannada film as well. He will also be seen in a corporate thriller with Darshan in the lead.
Talking about his entry into Sandalwood, Kelly says, “The producer of the Telugu film that I am doing with Mahesh Babu wanted me to do the negative role in the Kannada version of Dookudu, as he is producing it, and I agreed to it.” The film will also have Tilak Shekhar playing a negative role, and, if reports are anything to go by, Tilak will be seen playing Kelly’s younger brother. Incidentally, Kelly was keen on spending the holiday season back home with his family. “But the roles were good and I thought I should take them up. I will now be spending the next few months in Bangalore,” says Kelly, adding, “I’m looking forward to it as I’ll get to renew my association with Bangalore. In the past, I used to come here quite often for shows, and I have a few friends here. It will be interesting to do films in a language that I could never speak.”
